What a day! Our travels in Denver included the civic centers of the downtown area including the capitol building, renovated library and the newly built museum of contemporary art.
Our afternoon was spent taking in a game at Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies.
We spent a lovely evening under the stars at the infamous Red Rocks Amphitheater just outside of Denver in the town of Morrison, CO. This night was made so memorable by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and the flood of memories that filled my mind from the numerous musical acts I have read about or seen footage of documenting their performances at this wondrous location. Once considered one of the seven wonders of the world, one truly must visit this natural amphitheater to witness the gargantuan monoliths that dwarf it's visitors. It will be a challenge not to think of this magical place each day. Coupled with such moving classical selections such as Grieg's Peer Gynt, various selections from Bernstein's West Side Story and my personal favorite, Beethoven's 5th Symphony, which left me speechless, this was a special evening for Kyle and I to enjoy under the stars.
