Journey to the Windy City - Day 1

Upon waking up this morning in my room, I expected to see my personal belongings restored to their original places, but was surprised to see the reality of the empty floors and filled duffle bags. It was a surreal feeling to find that the day had arrived for us to leave LA.

The moving company came yesterday, for which we had prepared long and hard. We had spent much time leading up to the date in preparation for them to remove all of our belongings, however, we still managed to find ourselves up all night Friday night as we prepared the final items for us to ship to Chicago. There were several pieces that were not picked up by the movers to due to their low proposal of space required to move our household.

We spent the afternoon after the moving date by handling some errands, taking care of errands, enjoying some small spa services and taking some time to rest before getting ready for dinner. Our last night was a fantastic and fun evening spent over dinner with Kyle and Fernando in Beverly Hills and wrapped up late with a brief stop by the PB Mansion in Holmby Hills. We arrive home via Santa Monica in Westwood with each other and some great plans to look forward to all night.

Our drive to Las Vegas began around 10:00 a.m. with a last brief stop for fuel in Santa Monica. We punctuated our drive to Sin City with a stop in Barstow for a snack and then continued on for a few more hours. We are within a few miles of the strip now and are looking forward to a nice long dip in one of the many pools at Mandalay Bay before cleaning up for dinner and enjoying a show. Last night, Kyle bought tickets for us to enjoy "O" at Bellagio! We are really excited for this show!
